Has anyone experienced a tremor with citalopram use? It's one of the lesser known side-effects, but started to affect my mum quite badly.
Hi Lucy, do you mean shaking hands as I even on 10mg of Citalopram 6 weeks now and my hands where shaky and just seems to be easing but still there slightly
Sorry that was meant to say I have been on 10mg
Yes, were you told about the tremor? Escitalopram (more expensive) may be better as it has fewer side effects or sertraline seems to reduce side effects.
Hi unfortunately I was not told of any side affects etc so was a little worried when my shaking was still there after weeks but is now only slight mainly on a morning but hope it goes soon as I've always had steady hands. How long has your Mam been on the meds?
Lucy
If you mean the shakes then yes my legs did shake regularly when I was on 20mg cit.
Regards Tom
ah - did they resolve when you came off it?
She was on for 4 years, and it got progressively worse. She's swapped to sertraline and it improved but is still there a bit. I've been wondering about B vitamins, as they are good for the nervous system.
Yes they stopped when I reduced to 10mg
Ah right I'm only 6 weeks in and thanks will ask pharmacy about b vitamins
Yes i was taking Citalopram for 8 years up to the maximum dosage of 60mg, my hands only stopped shaking after i weaned myself off Citalopram
