Hi iv been on citalopram 10 mg for 10 weeks and 20mg for nearly 3 weeks, every time i take my 20mg dose my head feels fuzzy and cloudy, like im brain dead for a few hours, is this normal? Are these side effects? I have seen some improvement over the last few weeks as i suffer from obsessive thoughts and anxiety but havnt seen a massive improvement as yet, but i started on a very low dose. I just feel like my head is stuck in a vice, will this go away? Thanks

I gather you were taking 10mg of your medication, you have now been reviewed to take a further 10mg of medication.daily. You need to allow the revised dose time to work say another two weeks.
The best time to take Citalopran is about a half hour before bedtime, you will then find you will be more attentive next day.
If the drug is problematic still after a further two weeks talk to your GP, 10mg of this medication is quite low, a further 10mg to make up the dose to 20mg is a general working dose so give it time.
If you are on 30mg now Again give it a further two/three weeks and see how you get on, Discuss the problems with your GP if you are concerned regarding increased dose

Hi thanks for your reply i was taking 10mg previously for 10 weeks and have just had my dose increased to 20mg 3 weeks ago, i usually take it first thing in the morning. I think i might still be adjusting to the new dose, is it normal to take a few weeks to get used to the new dose? Thanks

Yes it will take time to get used to the new dose
Try taking your tablets in the evening before bed, you will feel better during the day doing that
