I recently visited my GP as I have been in and off citalorpam for 10 years and I think my body has become immune to them so after a lenghty discussion we agreed to change my tablets but firstly reduced my current mess which is 30mg of citalopram
Has anyone else ever changed mess like this?? If so anything I need to know.....side effects etc
Thanks xx
Please do it as slow as you can. Get a pill cutter if you have to and go as slow as possible. If you start to feel unwel as you lower, slightly up the dose until you feel ready to drop again
I recently tapered from 40mg Cit down to 20mg Cit and then off it completely while beginning 25mg Sert for a week and now have been taking 50mg Sert for two weeks. For the first week nothing changed. My high anxiety symptoms were still there, but nothing else. This week, week three of Sert and week two of 50mg I have had increased anxiety symptoms and agitation all day long for two days. I have just returned from my GP who spoke to a Psychiatrist on the phone while I was there who said that in some cases the switch can increase anxiety for a while. I have been given 14 2mg diazapan tablets to take when things are bad like today. I am hoping I will not feel this bad for very long, it's unbearable. I took 4mg diazapan half an hour ago and feel much better. Please remember this is just me and this will not happen to most people who are switching. If you are not taking this for severe anxiety it is not likely to happen.
Hi there how are you getting on with the swap from citalopram to sertraline? I've been on citalopram for 7 years and I've just swapped to sertraline 10 days ago and I'm feeling pretty rubbish.
