thanks just haveing racing thoughts just need karm down

Hi, I started on a lower dose, and am building it up.  Some people take it in the morning as it affects then sleep, I take it at night as I sleep ok on it. I started on 5 mg for a week and have now completed my 2 week on 10mg. I'll go up to 20mg if needed at the end of the month.  I will be honest, I've felt far worse on it, than I ever was before. I am constantly anxious, feel sick, not interested in doing much. I had a complete melt down one day over nothing. Couldn't sleep.  I'm on day 18. This is the first day I've woke up feeling "normal."  I feel more determined, and calm.  Stick with it. If you needed to go on it, things needed sorted.  It does get worse before it gets better, in some cases a lot worse but tell yourself this is all part of the treatment. I had to take 2.5mg of diazepam one night to knock me out. I can't believe how different I feel this morning...a ray of hope!  This forum will support you too.  It's normal all part of your brain adjusting for the better. I think it takes about 4 weeks, but everyone is different. Take each day at a time, be patient. You are not in this journey alone. When you need to, reach out on here, people will help you through it x

thanks it not sleeping part it get me you diazepam i got nothing to help

No..it does not settle..I would stop this medication.

I am sensitve to SSRIs..sounds like you are too...they either make you feel better or your not a candidate for them...try a different non-SSRI med.

Why would you put yourself thru all that torment?

I'm on a drug..that within 2 days had me feeling more calm...and less distracted!

I was on Citalopram for 8 years..time flies...I wish I knew how good I could feel without this drug or without ANY SSRI.

I was on Fluxentine before and I remember the first month being hard, then I didn't notice anything until someone told me how much more confident and calm I was behaving. Only then did I realise that it had settled and did help.  I stopped taking them as the pay off was my sex drive disappeared.  Once I stopped, after sometime I may add, that returned to normal but so did my mood swings and anxiety attacks. I know personally other people too, who have "settled" and they have made a difference too.  We are all different and unless you give something a real go, you don't know what the outcome will be.  People come here as part of their support strategies, which is great. I'm really thankful that this forum is here. Trying different needs can be scary, I'm glad you find one that worked for you x

yup...whatever works.

I gave Citalopram 8 years..and didn't realize the devestating anxiety it caused me until I stopped it.

And i will continue to carry that message.

Hi misssy

What r u on now ?

wellbutrin

I was on citalopram for about 10 years then it stopped working over the past 3 years I've tried loads of ad's with no joy the doc said try citalopram again and it made me worse I'm now on week 9 escitalapram and still struggling 😬 What's Wellbutrin for? And do u feel better ?

Thanks

Wellbutrin is indicated for Major Depression and Seasonal Disorder..I'm not a big believer in what it is prescribed for...more than I am for if it works...

It has taken my anxiety WAY down....and I will never be on an SSRI again...I don't know if this will work long term...but I feel better

day 9 still the same up all night hot sweats very anxiety

Bad thoughtes in my head some thing not right

Going to call doctor

I have been on 15 mg citalopram for a week now. Anxiety is real bad. Called in sick and went to the Doctor. She told me to stay on it that the side effects were cause it was working and should get better by 2 weeks. I;m really scared,
