anyone got any questions about citalopram? I've been on them for months now. I would love to answer some Questions you have!
Katie.......I do have questions that I hope you can shed some light on.
I have been on Citalopram 20 mg 12 months. My doctor and I decided it was time to get off of the medication.
He prescribed a taper that I am having a horrible time with.
For the first 3 weeks of the taper, he had me take a dose then skip a day.
After this 3 week period, he has me now taking a dose then skipping 2 days. Well, I wound up in the emergency room yesterday. My heart is beating a bit erratically. It will beat normal and then beat twice very quickly. On top of that, my body is shaking and my head feels strange. Thankfully, the emergency room doctor did an ekg, blood work and a chest x-ray and all came back good. He thinks that the way my doctor has me tapering may be too harsh for my system.
My first question is this: Is my doctor tapering me properly?
Secondly, do you agree with the er doctor that these symptoms may be from the taper?
