I had a claw toe surgery just over a week ago, and for the most part things gave been going smoothly. I can put weight on my heel, but I was never given a special shoe. Do you only get that once the sutures come out? Also I'm having some aches in the toe and on the ball of my foot down along the side. Should I worry about the aches or is this just normal. I had the procedure on 7 days ago and only have a follow up in another 10. Is that normal, for it to be so long?
Hi Julie you should have been given the rocker shoe before you left hospital. It is usual to get pain/aches in the toe. The pain in side of foot is prob due to the way you are walking. I would ring the consultants secretary and ask her to check with them. X
Hi Julie Ive had hammertoe surgery on both feet
Each time I have been given a rocker shoe
I had also a pin left in my toe sticking out of the toe for 6 weeks before they removed it , yes I would say it's normal to have the pain you experiencing but that should eventually go away ... but I would get intouch with Ward or surgeons secretary and check that the physio people have not give you the wrong shoe as around here it's them that give it to you on the instructions of what the surgeon suggests which shoe you need x
Hi, thanks for the response. It's been 4 weeks and I'm looking forward to getting the pin out in another 2. The pin is further in my foot than it was last week. The ball is almost touching my toe whereas last week there was a noticeable gap. Is this normal?
