hi so i had sex last week unprotected and ever since then i have been very uncomfortable with burning and itching the day after sex. that has gone down and now i am just very uncomfortable wearing underwear and it hurts to wipe when i go pee. could this be an std?? or just a friction blister?? the person i had sex with does not have any symptoms or stds that they know of. i am going to the doctor on friday
Ideally, you should visit the doctor when the blister is still present so that it can be swabbed for further testing or the doctor can tell you if it is STD or not just by looking at it. I think burning and itching day after the sex is too early for any STDs to show up.
As SkyBlue1983 says, most STIs won't show any symptoms for at least a week, so it could just be friction injury, or maybe a Bartholin's cyst. If you've had any of the symptoms for longer than a week, then herpes could be a possibility, though it's hard to say without a pic. If you're in the UK, you could probably get an appointment sooner btw, maybe even a walk-in appointment, at a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.
