Clicking - 7 weeks post op

Hello all. So I'm coming to terms with the fact that I still have swelling around the new hip area, and that it looks really weird compared with the other hip, but it also clicks every time I walk, and my non-op hip doesn't.

Does anyone know what this is? I do have my 6 week check up tomorrow (thank god!) so hopefully I'll get all the answers I need, but I did wonder about the clicking and if anyone else had experienced it. I had back surgery 10 years ago and I don't remember the recovery being any way as complicated as this!

Thank you all.

Can you explain what you are doing that produces the clicking or is it something that happens every time you move?

Cheers Richard

Every step I take it clicks...

I would want some convincing answers from the surgeon who did my hip surgery!

All the best

Richard

Hi Lucindagl,

I was told that this can happen from a tendon, called the psoas tendon, rubbing against the new hip. Usually this popping sensation occurs while the hip is healing, and during turning the leg side to side.

good that you have your follow up appointment tomorrow -- write down your questions okay and have someone with you ...

please come back here and let us kow what happened.

big warm hug

Hi I would ask your physiotherapy dept at the hospital. But remember it's still early days. Regards Amanda
