Can the clips from a failed urolift be removed ?
Short answer… Yes, but only with Extensive Surgery to get “All” of the Clips.
.
Long answer… The Doctors will say yes or no, depending on how you ask the question. My first Urologist explained it the Best. He said: The clips left on the inside of the Urethra , can be easily removed either during the initial installation or subsequently; in cases where they “Mis-Fire” or accidentally over lap an area, or change their mind for other reasons. However the clips that go all the way through the Prostate (or other internal items), necessarily have to be removed only with extensive internal surgery.

Thats just great! Wonderful to here that extensive internal surgery could be necessary under certain conditions.
I had the Urolift done on May 9 this year and never read anything suggesting this could be serious in terms of removal.
It would have been nice to have this information before i had it. Oh well I’ll think positive.
I had 6 clips placed and two of them protruded into my bladder and needed to be removed. I had them removed with a partial Turp procedure. They can only remove the piece in the inside piece, the piece that shoots through your prostate and attaches to the outside is yours for life.
I still have a little bleeding going on so I might need the other 4 removed.
