coconut oil

a lot of ladies recommend coconut oil but which one??? its a bit of a minefield.  Which "natural " creams/ointment to stop the cracking because its this what makes me sooooo sore.

I bought a jar of Cocnut oil - which comes solidified until applied, from Waitrose. I suspect they are all of a muchness

I use Diprobase from the GP to wash and use a a moisturiser/ barrier

You can get elmulsifying ointment from chemists  - a large tub is not expensive and can use it in the same way

Some use Vaseline  - Go to your local qualified pharmacist and sk for help - they know which products contain what chemicals

You sound fed up

Pecker up Jackie

Where are you as it makes a difference to the resourses available to you

Take Care

Sue

Hi Jackie. Emuaid cream and washbasin keeps the cracks away for me.

Should have said wash bar!

I use johnsons unscented jelly found in the baby section. It's petroleum and isoparafin and I think if you can put it on a baby's bum it should be ok for us. I think it's hard getting every day maintenance stuff. I'm getting some hydromol ointment to try.

Xx

I am in Australia. Personally i found using a soap reacement like aqueous cream for bathing down there helped. I also found one of the more soothing creams was oveston. I wash every visit to toilet no matter what i have done. Works really well.

Was recomended to go with out knickers as much as possible.  I find long cool dresses work. In mid thirties here daily too. I took about 5 weeks to respond to treatment and finally feeling less pain but still some cracking and bleeding around anus. What ever you do dont give in to the itch. Scratching is really bad and makes it worse. Oh and ointment works better in the heat than creams.

I wish you a speedy recovery from this out break. Feeling for ya.

Wilma.

Unrefined coconut oil was recommended to me and thats what I use to keep the skin moist and also for lubrication for intercourse. The dry skin seems to spit easily so keeping it moist helps a lot.

When I do have a tear or raw spot I use vasaline or aquaphor ointment to keep it protected and promote faster healing. Also as said above, rinsing with water after urinating or during urination helps.

Split not spit lol

i am in lancs uk .  I do feel a bit fed up Sue i thought i had it under control and i suppose i do its just that always feeling sore, i even tried my grand-daughters bepaanthan thinking if its good enought for a 4 month old but i wouldnt say i had noticed any difference.  I keep searching the site looking for what other ladies use with some success.

See i tried this after sending for it from the states but it didnt work for me which i suppose makes us all different and its definately trial and error.

i feel like spitting!!lol

Good idea so i am assuming unscented baby soap would to good too?!!

I use Hydromol to wash down below when not showering and then apply it afterwards to keep urine away and have Hydromol shower lotion to use when showering or in the bath combined with Dermovate about 1 small pea size once a week had kept me itch free since February after suffering for 12 years.

Unrefined organic coconut oil sounds healthy.  Just read an article on the many benefits they're finding with coconut oil, and noticed that wound healing was on the list--increases healthy collagen development, antibacterial, etc.  Sounds like it might help healing even beyond being a good moisturizer.

Wow thats great going Holiday Girl. You seem to have a great method of keeping it at bay.
