Coeliac blood results

I have just received my blood results for coeliac

My labs normal range is 0-14.9

My results 59.1

I have to go for a gut biopsy

Is my coeliac bad?

What will happen after biopsy?

Also I want to add the comments on my blood tests were ‘consistent with coeliac disease’ tested positive for both ttg iga & endomyseum AB

If your biopsy shows up celiac disease, you will be put on a gluten free diet.

My daughter is celiac.  I believe her numbers were higher than that but can't remember the exact number.  She was encouraged to continue eating gluten until the biopsy so that the results would not be skewed.  The biopsy just takes a small piece of the small intestine.  The dr. told us right away that by the state of her intestine, it was definitely celiac.  We had to wait 3 months for the formal report (Canada) but we had been preparing to go gf since the blood work.  Going gf is overwhelming but in the long run, the health improvement is worth the change.  Cross contamination is an issue if you are very sensitive (ie crumbs in your butter, mayo etc).  Within 2 weeks of going gf, our daughter had dramatic changes in how she felt.  I hope you find a good person to ask questions of because that is invaluable.  We dedicated a couple of cupboards, just for her supplies (toaster, pasta strainer, cutting board).  She had her own gf butter, jam, mayo - all that mean is not cross contaminated.  We now make recipes that don't have gluten in them if we know she's coming over to eat.  Good luck in your journey.
