Has anyone ended up with cold feet since there op?
I seem to be having problems with my blood circulation for a few weeks now. My feet and toes turn white and other than putting on thermal socks even on a warm day liike today I can't get my feet to stay warm.
To some extent, only for a few days and then they always warmed up in bed. Did not need thermal socks. Maybe connected with your other post op troubles.
Funny you mention it -- me too ... and cramps - I so want to hold them in my hands and rub or massage them, but can't !!! too stiff and perhaps afraid that something will snap --- doesn't help that unoperated leg/hip is bad now too ..I wear my socks and even cover them with a blanket when I am on the couch ....
Yes I did, right after the operation, my right toes were so cold, like ice, I had to get the nurse to cover them up they were really like Ice!! and the socks were on...
Just one of Toes tings.......Xcuse da Pun...My righ leg feels as if I had not even had an operation right now, I am just turning in.... but the left needs doing as soon as possible...night time pills Rampiril, 10 mgs+ amitriptlyne 5mgs, last 2 tramidols, 50 mgs too, I get 30 a week not needing the naproxin 500mgs that often now....or the toilet riser....and can lieon both sides for say 10 mins....
I can also make the stairs without a stick walking slowely with both legs, 3 weeks now....
Walkng just fine perhaps the shopping with a weighted backpack is helping??
OH Renee and Jenfid THANK YOU SO MUCH for telling us you TOO had terrible leg cramps. I started having them too post op, about day 6 or so. The one in the back of my operated leg was the size of a FOOTBALL. I was SCREAMING! I had them in my arms, feet, back of legs for DAYS. IT was horrible. I had to go to my GP and he thank God told me to increase my muscle relaxants. I had some Robaxin (Methocarbomol) 750mg and I have been taking one three times a day. I can't go through that torture on top of the surgery pain. I thought it was just ME! And YES my feet are cold too, I am wearing socks in the summer in Florida where it is in the 90's. Thank you Thank you Thank you for telling me this. I told my surgeon, he said he does not deal with my medical to go to my GP. Boy am I glad I listened to him.
I have suffred with cramp for a few years now and I asked the physio when I got it while on the ward in my operated leg and he said just to streach it out as normaland it will go away so I did. I haven't had cramp as much as I did before the op. But I do agree it is very painful.
Yep I had cramp in my operated leg 24 hours after my op and yes it does hurt like hell. The physio said to streach it out as normal and it has been fine since.
Hi Hailea, looks like lots of us have got cold feet, mine is feet and hands, I am still sleeping with my electric overblanket on and its summer! hate to think what it will be like in the worst of winter.
I am doing ok thanks. Not great but ok. This op seems to have caused me more problems than I went in to get fixed.I see my consultant on Monday so I will be having a chat with him. Hopefully I will get my hydrotherapy so I can at least move without much pain. I want to work in the gym to get some weight off too. I hope that can be sorted out. Before my hips became bad I was a really fit strong person so I am willing to get there again.
