hi all, Happy New Year to everyone, July left hip replaced, September major blood clot in lungs, ten days in hospital, now on Warfarin, since then have been suffering with very cold legs, especially knees just cannot keep them warm, has anyone else had similar problems, been to Docs this week said I might have restless leg syndrome but I don't think that is diagnosis, sent me for blood tests so we will see what comes back on Monday
V similar experience here. But most due to nerve damage.
Foot deep purple and freezing, no matter what the weather. Lots of cramp and 'festiculations' in calf. Use layers of thermal socks and gorgeous pair of sheepskin houseboots. Thank God. Lifesavers!
I'm so sorry for what you have been going through!
I always described my situation as my internal thermometer must be way off because I used to run ice cold, after surgery I was always burning up. Do you do the ankle pumps every hour? That might have helped me, but I don't know? Eventually I did go through hot to cold spurts that me feel like what I can only imagine menopause must feel like (I'm still roughly 2 decades away from that though). I found wearing yoga pants + compression socks + fuzzy warm socks helped during the cold times....but I think we have very different issues
Hi HippyshakeJanet,
Seven years ago I had a pulmonary embolism too. 17 days in the hospital and blood thinners for another 3 months, then the clot was gone. During my time of being on the blood thinner, I was constantly cold, severely cold. My house stays warm but I had to put an electric heater two feet from me at all times and I slept in layers of clothing and a hat and wool socks and leg warmers. My legs seemed to always be the coldest part of my body and I would shiver so hard that it hurt.
Could this perhaps be contributing to your problem?
Hope you find your answer.

V similar to my experience. Already had nerve damage after original THR, but PE after most recent one has exacerbated my sensitivity to cold.
Layers of of thermal leggings, socks and gorgeous sheepskin house boots help. But foot is still deep purple and 'dead' looking.
Oh my! I am afraid my revision next month will leave me with nerve damage. I have suffered temporary nerve damage that healed, but after experiencing it that slightly, I cannot even imagine how one could ever smile again when they have it permanently.
