Cold weather....Worse pain??????

Hi All.... :wings:

I was wondering if anyone knows if the cold weather can make CS pain worse...???? It is winter here in Australia and i seem to be having much more bad days than good at the moment!!!!! I am making sure my neck stays as warm as possible...I wear a scarf even inside the house!!!! sad Everyday i feel like i have concrete in my head and the back of my neck.... :grrr: My shoulders and upper arms are aching....Actually, I'm feeling pretty miserable right now..... :wah:

10 more sleeps till i see the Neurosurgeon....Bring it on!!!!!!

hi jas sorry to hear you are suffering, but as us brits know, the cold weather makes this damned thing so much worse as with all the arthritis. i have noticed a direct correllation between the drop in temperature and the onset of pain. also though on hot days i suffer what can only be called a draw on my neck, with the heat. who knows which is worse, well yes i do , the cold by far. all i can say is keep warm as you are doing, have you tried diclofenac gel? get our hubby to rub it into your neck and shoulders it should help as well as giving you lovely skin lol. good luck in the next week or so in the build up to the appointment. try something i was suggested i try, write a pain journal to take with you to the consultation!!!!, it can help the consultant understand your day to day problems (thanks ik80000). well goodluck again jas and i will be waiting to see how you are post appointmnt. chris

Thanks, Chris..... :D

I think the gel you are talking about is an anti inflam gel, which i do use....My hubby has been rubbing it in for me.... :D

I do have a pain journal but i get sick and tired of writing in it...but its a great idea to do it before my appointment especially...I am going to start it up again today!!!! Thanks for that reminder!!!

I saw a new Physio today...she was lovely...she massaged the back of my head/base of my skull where i had horrible pain...that has eased off a bit now.....but after being used to having Myotherapy which is deep tissue massage, it felt a bit like a child giving me a massage...LOL....The Physio is going to be organising an exercise program for me too....  To me, exercise is a naughty word!!!!!  But i know i need to do it!!!!
