colectomy surgery or bowel resection

Looking to see if anyone has had this type of surgery and if you would tell me how it went for you and anything about it. What recovery was like and did it help. Thanks!

I took care of an elderly man who had a colostomy bag, due to removal of a bowel obstruction, it remained unconnected for a year, and then a re-connection. The longer you wait to resection it the worse it is, the muscles become weak and can herniate easily after resection. Also he used a netting inside that became infected and his stomach ruptured every 9 months and it was a horrendous thing to deal with. Blood and pus everywhere. So if you use any kind of inside netting make sure the company has exception feedback and is very good. The infections continued till the day he died. So my recommendation is resect as soon as humanly possible.
