Colon Cancer in 17 year old? Abdominal Pain, etc

So for the past 4-5 years I have experienced annoying abdominal pain. It appears at the most random time, not related to what I eat, drink, or anything. IT IS NOT CRAMPING. My doctors always refer it to cramping but it is just a consistent burning/twisting pain in my lower mid abdomen. The weird thing is the only way to RELIEVE the pain is LYE DOWN. How does that make any sense. I could be in crazy pain, and then boom, as soon as I lye down, my pain subsides.

Some other symptoms I experience is:

-Adominal Pain

-Bloating

-Gas

-Frequent Constipation

-Strange water squishing noise when pushing on abdomen

To add, standing up for long periods makes the pain worse

Also, I have received 2 CT Scans both came back negative for except that my abdomen was full of stool both times (had the CT scans taken 1 year apart from each other). I had a blood test which came back negative

My questions are:

Are these symptoms of colon cancer?

If so why I have I experienced the same symptoms for 5 years and no change

Also, why does my lying down relief the pain?

I have gone to countless doctor appointments and no resolution. It gets kinda irritation expecially since my last appointment by doctor told me to sniff peppermint...

Colon cancer would be very rare at your age.  It sounds more like IBS especially if all your tests are negative.  Your doctor talks about cramping pain which is the same thing as twisting pain.  He has suggested peppermint because it is a natural antispasmodic which can help if you have IBS.  Often doctors try you out on a medication to help them make a diagnosis, so don’t get frustrated with this.  It is unusual for doctors to be open to a natural remedy.  This is quite encouraging. Normally, they are only interested in drugs.

Try the peppermint to see if it is any use. .However, if you have reflux, or a burning sensation in your abdomen, peppermint can cause heartburn.  But, it will do no harm to try it. That’s your only way of knowing if it works.  If it doesn’t work and you are diagnosed with IBS, you may have to try several antispasmodics to find a suitable one.

For constipation, try lots of fruit such as oranges or prune juice or try a short term laxative.  My IBS caused me four different types of pain that was generalised and moved about, back pain, constipation, loose stools and nausea.  Does your pain move about?

First of all, I appreciate your willingness to response with such a honest answer.

I will defiantly try the peppermint now that you have explained its purpose

And to answer your question; yes My Pain never hurts in the same spot. Sometimes it’s in the upper abdomen and then sometimes in the lower.

Thanks again

Speak to your doctor again and you could tell him whether the peppermint worked.  He may think you have IBS since he suggested peppermint.  However, you should ask whether or not you need further tests since you have had the same symptoms for five years with no change.   Ask about IBS. If all your tests are normal, IBS can be identified.   It is important to get a firm answer on what you have.

My doctor told me I didn’t need to repeat my tests because my symptoms had stayed the same for three and a half months and I had no new symptoms. So he diagnosed me with IBS.

If it was colon cancer, your symptoms would have changed and for the worst.  So the fact your symptoms have stayed the same is good news for you.
