Coming off cit 10mg

Hello all, first time here and glad I found the site, seems very helpful wish id of found it sooner

I have been on cit for around 10 months, i had bad anxiety last year out of the blue, had a panic attack, constant dizzyness daily and this is what they gave me.  Which helped!

When I first got it I was scared to death of even trying it but glad I did.  I've had on and off moments but overall I have been fine.

A few weeks ago I thought to myself it was time to come off them so I decided to have them every other day.  Now I have gone a full week without them.

At the moment I'm getting random shooting pains, slight light headiness and a bit worried about how bad it can get, I think im more worried about been how I was last year, I never want to go through that again.

The way it is at the moment I can handle it, I think its just my mind is using scare tactics against me.  Now its been a week should I maybe have another to boost me? or keep it up and keep off of them?

Going to speak to my GP at some point this week but until then, any advice / sucess story would be appreicated thanks.

Hi bbb,  Well, I think I would give the doctor a call on Monday.  I know you are not to just quit them like that.  It has to be done carefully, and slowly as it can mess up the body, cause some unwanted issues.  Before you do anything else, my only suggestion is to call the doctor first thing Monday, I would not wait until later in the week.  You don’t want to un-do what took 9 months to fix.  I wish you luck!!  Keep us posted, as I am sure others would like to know what the doctor has to say too!

fyi...I've been on 20mg cital for 3 years...

I wud certainly think ur putting urself through the ringer for no reason. I wud continue to take the meds as prescribed until you see ur GP!!! Dont think these meds are to be toyed with!!!!!

I have to agree 100%

Honestly you should see your Doc before attempting to stop them - if you really want to stop you should take months, not days of tapering down so that you don't get any horrible symptoms.  The fact that you are now worrying about how you feel makes me think maybe it's not right for you to stop taking them yet?

There is no stigma to taking these tablets if they make you feel ok - people take the pill every day to stop having babies, so why not take your Cit to feel better?  I would keep on with them if I were you but see what your doc has to say x
