coming off sertraline.

Just an update people about how im getting on with stopping sertraline. Today i woke up with my head throbbing. As a result im getting dizzy spells. I was doing ok until today. So im hoping im not going to take a u turn. Im 9 days into stopping. Im determined not to give up and ride out the storm. Just thought i would point out that if your going to come off the sertraline your best doing it gradually. Its pretty rough if im honest but just remember its only going to last for a couple of weeks. Anyway. Rant over

i hope it starts to get better for you soon x

hi Richard I wish I was at that point. I am starting my journey dealing with anxiety fingers crossed sertraline kicks in for me soon. good luck with the withdrawal stay strong.

Hi Natalie - how long have you been on it? I started on 50 for about 7 weeks and then 75 for last 4 weeks now. Still not 100% but much much better and helped people on here too making me keep going and not give up taking the tablets x

hi richard,

what dosage were you on and did you just stop taking them or did you taper?? if so what did you go down to??

thanks and hope you're feeling better soon :-)

hi been on 50mg 8th day today. Also been given 80mg slow release propranolol 1 morning and 1 night time. mornings awful no appetite. trying to force food as it's fuel finding it so tough but will keep going hopefully it will get better soon like you x

It really affected my appetite too but then I had already lost a stone through my health anxiety so not much change there and eating was horrible but like you it was better to try and force something down. I was trying to eat soup and lived on Complan for 2 weeks! I had diazapam to help with side effects which I think is a bit like proponal and I took them one in the morning and one at night but only for about 2 weeks I think. I kept them and they are still at home but I dont need them anymore. I couldnt even funtion and was in bed for 2 weeks so the fact I am back at work and back to looking after my little boy is a massive plus for me. I also go to CBT counselling once a week which helps too and even when my course has finished I might still go and see her every few months to stay on the right track if I can. A good book to get is also "At last a Life" written by Paul David, really good, you might already have it. I did try some other forums too but they didnt help and this was the only one that did. Let us know how you get on and keep going x

Thank you really appreciate it x

50mg for 3 months, 100mg for 7 months, then 50mg for 2 months. Then stopped them 9 days ago. Im feeling great now other than tbe side affects. I was a mess this time last year so the difference is night and day.
