2 mount ago I RLE operation, and have since had some complications. At first I had the flickering, like there is water in the eye, that now is much better, but not 100 percent though. What remains now is, I think, in low level lighting, when the pupil is more open, It's like I can see the outer edge of the IOL, almost like it is to small. It feels like there is a thin round hair in the eye, probably what some described as spiderweb. Much worse in the right eye. Wery annoying indeed, in bright sunlight the vision is perfect.
my question is, will this get better over time, and how long. Brain getting used to it ? If IOL has to be charged, what is the optimum time ?

Your brain over time learns to ignore these things. I had my cataract surgeries in November and December of last year and it took a good 6 months before my eyes felt normal again. My vision is very good and was from the day of surgery but like what you described I sometimes caught a glimpse of the edge of the lenses. Also I have mono vision (one near eye and one distance eye) and depending on the lighting I'm in sometimes one will seem a little off. I then just remind myself these are man made lenses not natural and although they are 95% perfect they will never be what I once had. It's the same as wearing glasses you look at the wrong spot you see the frame, you stand where there is very bright incandescent lighting you'll get a glare.
Thanks Cart4950, that's uplifting! I have my checkup in oktober, so hope it has improved by then. Otherwise just wait longer. Here is a video of the jittering, if someone has this in the beginning, it will subside..

Thanks Ed, my own doctor is just a normal GP, he would just refer me to another eye-doctor.. I think I've just bite the bullit, and wait for my checkup in Oktober, unless it gets worse.

Is there any chance you could discuss this problem with the surgeon who performed the operation?

My flickering subsided 2 months after operation. The dark cresent (edge of iol) is appearing less after 3 months, only very occasionally .
But certain effects like concentric circles still appear when I have a walk on a dark street with bright light poles . The circles appear when the light source is adjacent to the eye.
I hope things will get better for you very soon.
Went to the company that did the operation yesterday, to have them look at it, and as expected the lens is perfectly located and centred in the eye. Same explanation, that it takes time to get use to it, and over time the brain will learn to cope. If after 6 months months there is no improvement, they are will do the piggyback operation. There is a 5 year warranty, so plenty of time on that end.

If it helps at all, I too have this symptom, I see a dark shadow in my peripheral vision and notice it a lot more in my left eye than my right. I also have the feeling of it moving as I try to focus on different things in different light settings.
After two months I feel like it is less intense, but I am definitely still very aware of it, as one of your other responses says, I am hoping that at 6 months my eyes will feel normal again. For the most part I've learnt to just relax and go with the process, because for my first 3 weeks my distance vision was a total blur so I was really beginning to panic, and then all of a sudden it really cleared up! So I guess these things do just take time!

good to hear, like you I will just go with it until further and see after 6 months what remains. The reason why I asked about LASIK, is sometimes it worsens the glare and ring effect. I am considering a "piggyback", but am really not keen about doing surgery again. Hope it will just sort it self out.

UPDATE. Just about a week ago, I read an article about glasses and frames. And I tried to wear my old reading classes, without the glas, just the frame, and it works remarkably well. I don’t know if it tricks the brain, or the frame blocks a little bit of unwanted light, but it takes about 80% of the irritation of glare, shadow and spiderweb away. This, of course is only a temporary solution, and not a permanent fix, and I only wear them when I am at home. I have my 3 mouth checkup October 4.
