Compression stockings

Hello. I’m 6 days post op, and I just realized that even wearing g these compression stockings, my right foot (non surgery side) had swelled up pretty good. looks like at some point the opening had slipped back and wound up around my ankle. Seems like its going back to normal now. Does it matter whether they are thigh high, or knee high??? I have rather large legs and the longer the stocking, the more likely they will roll up and restrict blood flow even more. Any info or advise???

The instructions that came with my compression stockings were that they were to end just below the knee. It is definitely bad to roll them up as you found out, they restrict blood flow.
Best wishes
Graham

Hi John, I am 13 days post op and don’t have any compression stockings, in fact they don’t use them at all at Chapel Allerton Hospital. I had prophylaxis leg pumps for three days after surgery, two heparin injections, then riveroxaban tablets to take home one a day and no stockings!

Are you using iced Ace bandages? Cheers Richard
