Hello, im a 26 year old male and reasonably healthy. could probably loose a bit of weight but id say im pretty average. Anyways, for about 3 weeks now ive been having strange changes to my stool... ill either have diarrhoea or soft but theres almost always and oil film floating on the water. My stool doesnt usually float but oil streaks are visible. ive also been very gassy.. last year my doc thought i had gull stones and he did an ultra and saw my pancreas and gull bladder were all fine so i assume thats still the case? my abdominal pain continued to he did a CT scan and still found nothing. after a endoscopy they finally found i had an ulcer plus Eosiniphilic oesophagitis - thats spelt terribly wrong... anyways my point is the gas and stool problems are new... could they be a problem? what could be causing it? thank you for your time. Tim
ive already been tested for TB and cancer via CT Scan.
would IBS cause oily stool?
i am not a doctor but i have a medical background. if you had ibs your stools will certainly change, but they will look like they have mucus in it. there are so many things that could cause oily stools but dr google always comes up with the worst. CT scans are very reliable so that in its self should give you some relief. have you been tested fir celiac? you should keep a food diary just to see if there is anything that triggers it, dairy for example, especially if you are lactose intolerant. keep pushing for tests, you know your body more than anyone else!
