I'm confused bc I'm reading that panic attacks are harmless, anxiety is harmless. then I read about how someone who has anxiety and panic over long periods of time fall over from all the stress. I don't get the discrepancy. It's either harmless or it's not. I've had panic attacks since age 10 and I'm 46 now, so I'm not exactly young anymore. I don't know what to make of the conflicting information. If anyone has insight, please share. Thank you!
The reasoning behind this is that stress/anxiety over very long periods of time can put a strain on the heart because anxiety/stress raise blood pressure and pulse. But in order for this to cause anything serious you would have to have severe anxiety for very long periods of time, there were studies done showing that people with severe stress could raise there blood pressure into a hypertensive state and obviously high blood pressure over long periods of time can cause heart failure or heart attack. However in your given situation you are perfectly fine. I see youve had this a long time but has your doctor ever mentioned you having high blood pressure and needing medication? Also keep in mind er visit and hopsital visits always raise blood pressure cause people are nervous so dont think that because it was high once at the ER or doctors that it means anything. my BP was 189/120 once at the Er
