What’s it mean if got blood in urine when doc dip tests it but says no infection can this be normal
Definitely not normal - needs investigation.
Hi there Lisa. Blood is indicative of an underlying issue even without infection. Interstitial Cystitis, kidney issues, stones, urethra irritation and many more reasons can show blood in tests visual and microscopic.
My best advice I can give you is to monitor your urine and symptoms for a while. Purchase OTC test strips or online. The test strips that show: nitrates, Leukocytes and acidic ph are best. The other strips they offer have way too many and it just made me more anxious to figure out them. They need to stay in cool dry place and you need to be careful not to contaminate the strips and they do have a short shelf life.
Just because a doctor dismissed one thing does not mean it should not be followed up with another specialist or testing.
Pain, location of pain, type, spasms, incontinence, fever, nausea, smell, urine appearance, even decreased energy levels are something to pay attention to. One easy way to monitor is using phone apps but I also take a picture of my test strip if it shows elevation in one or both areas.
This may be too much information and I am just a complicated UTI patient, but you know your body best.
Would be good to hear how your doing.
Thanks for the information I am a health anxiety person as trying to figure out my pains I get I have suffered with uti 2 within 4 month period time I bought my own tests which don’t show up blood but when I went today had my urine tested it showed blood now I’m worried my discomfort is my bladder witch I thought I had ibs as get Belly pains a lot had a colonoscopy which was clear but sometimes get left or right groin sharp pain goes to hip
