So I got a Pap smear and the result was low grade squamous intraepithelial lesion? I also got tested for Herpes because I thought I caught it. Can the pap result mean I just have Herpes and it's not detecting it?

Pap smears don't test for herpes. In order to find out if u do in fact have herpes u need a swab test if u have sores or a blood test done.. standard std test do not include a hsv 1 or 2 test. The paper Mears basically test for pre-cancer and cancer cells
Your pap result suggests you very likely have high-risk HPV, not herpes. You should swab for HPV to find out the type or type grouping.
Also, paps are not for diagnosing herpes, although they may sometimes remark on the presence of suspect cells if found, but this is not reliable. Specific swab or blood tests are required for herpes.
