Confused

I went back to my GP as my liver blood tests were high, he got me to do more blood tests for hormones. I asked if my results were back he said " tests showed results of some one who drinks excessive alcohol" im tea total? He then said nothing to worry about, I asked him if he was referring me, he said no.

Surely if my results state excessive alcohol and im tea total there is deffinately some thing wrong? Confused.

Hi DO NOT WORRY I can guarantee it was your gamma GT which was raised, this is an element of the LFTs that most GPs don't test any more.

I saw my gastroentologist 3 years ago who because he had never seen it raised sent me too a liver specialist who couldn't understand why he had sent me, he said its not relevant to anything as was probably due to a cold/virus or even a bang of some kind, it eventually went down to "normal"

PS I'm also a non drinker

Do you have details of which tests, it was probably GGT, do you have the test figure for this.

In the UK, GGT is one of the main tests they use and if high, it normally points to increased alcohol consumption. However, there maybe other causes, was this the only test that came out of the normal levels?

I know that swelling was high and he would not ellaborate.
