I was on Flu for a few months about 18 months ago. It really helped but the weight gain that I experienced was horrendous. This time Dr has given me Citalopram 10mg. Started them on Tuesday and apart from not being able to sleep the first night, I feel no different at all. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting them to 'work' immediately, rather I was expecting side effects of some sort. With Flu I was jittery for a few days. Am I alone in experiencing no side effects I wonder?
When I was first put on citalopram in my early teens, I had excruciating side effects where I'd be sleepless and hear voices. I was taken off of it for a few years, then put back on. At first, I had no side effects and was overwhelmed with the difference a change in your body chemistry can make with reactions (or lack thereof) to a medication. Unfortunately, after being on the medication for a few years now, I'm starting to get side effects again. I'd say just watch how you feel, and these things can come and go in waves.

I went on Citalopram years ago and had zero side effects! Literally nothing so not all drugs will have them depending on you. I recently switched from Citalopram to fluoxetine due to pregnancy and couldn’t tolerate it at all so had to stop. I think it just depends on you and the drug.
I didn’t get side effects from the Fluoxetine for 2 weeks so it may be that the Citalopram hasn’t got in your system yet or it may be that you won’t get them at all! Good luck with it. X
