I had a uti a year and a half ago, and ever since then I have been a nervous wreck! I had the uti after I lost my virginity, and now every time I had sex I get so so nervous until I have multiple panic attacks and I can't handle it anymore
I have severe anxiety, but this is an anxiety that I just cannot shove. Is there anyone who can help me? Is it rational to worry every time I have sex? is it likely that I have a uti with contant urge to urinate as soon as I go to the loo? Or is it just my anxiety that I have had for nearly a year and a half?
Hi aimee..I was just diagnosed with an "overactive" bladder...same as you..peeing all the time, peeing my pants...all the time....
The hard thing about this condition is...the Dr. says...no tomatoes, yogurt, coffee, vinegar....spicy foods, onions...basically everything I eat.
So she gave me a pill.....she also suggested kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic wall....30 times a day while watching commercials (to ensure I remember to do them, to do them during something I do everyday).
Try the Kegels...I believe in them...its just hard to keep up doing them...I haven't done them since I left the Dr. 3 days ago!
Heres a secret for uti and sex..buy cranberry pills. They even sell them by all the gyno products in the pharmacies. Take with a full glass if water the day you have sex. In terms of the urination issue probably best left up to a specialist to figure that out. Some people have hyperactive bladders as well but thats for a specialist to diagnose.
I agree regarding overacting bladders. Also, UTI's are very common in women. That is why good hygene before and after sex is important. Also, you should urinate right after to avoid bacteria going up. However, if you are too late, 1 spoon of baking soda mix with 8 to 10 oz of water, works like magic for the uncomfortable symptons.
