I have been having bad anxiety for about a month, currently on holiday but can't enjoy it because I am so dizzy constantly. Is this vertigo? or is it just my anxiety? I know anxiety and stress can cause dizziness but is it really this severe? I literally cannot walk straight and everything feels like it's moving up and down. And of course this dizziness is causing me to be stressed so my other symptoms are getting worse. Anything I can do to ease the dizziness?
If it feels as though the room is moving or spinning that is called a vertigo.
And yes, anxiety and stress can bring it on. It is harmless but I know it doesn't feel good. Try not to move your head around too much when this is going on. It eventually subsides.
Learning to manage anxiety will really decrease the dizziness.
try not to stress out because that can make it worse.
RIGHT NOW Focus on your breathing. Take a long slow deep breath in through your nose making sure your stomach rises. Then blow out slowly through your mouth like you're blowing out a candle. Focus on how the air feels coming in and going out. Does the air feel cool? Does it feel warm? What does it sound like?
this approach is called mindfulness. Focusing on your breathing keep you in the present moment and away from what is concerning you. Do this several times.
Listen to meditations on YouTube for anxiety. They will calm you down as well as your symptom.
A good one is called mindful meditation for relaxation by Glenn. Use earbuds buds if you have them.
I also meant to tell you that YouTube has meditations on proper breathing technique to calm everything down. One is called a 10 minute breathing meditation.
these are very helpful! Use earbuds buds if you have them
