Hi, for the past 2 weeks I've had a constant headache. It has never really gone away. I've been to the doctor and have no bacterial infection. They have taken 3 blood samples and results back tomorrow. I've also been to an opticians and she advised I'm slightly short sighted but this would not be the issue all of a sudden. I'm sick with the worry that I've a tumour or something. Would getting a MRI scan rule out any cancer? I'm thinking of getting one done privately. Do I need to be referred by a doctor? Any advice would be great. Thanks
The pain is also towards the front half of my head. Also have slight neck pain and cramping on the bottom of my left front occasionally. I'm a 27 year old male.
Hi Aidan,
MRI would rule out any tumor causing the headaches, doctors tend to not really give these unless all other avenues have been explored sadly. Very low chance that's what's aching the headaches though.
i had a private scan done and all you need to do is contact a private hospital who will set you up with a Neuro/headache specialist who will order you one and it will be pretty quick rather than waiting months on NHS. (If you are from UK)
I have been dealing with a constant headache in the front half of my head for many months. My doctor hasn't been able to figure out whats wrong with me. If I find out anything useful I will let you know. This headache makes me feel out of it, fuzzy, and lathargic- do you ever feel that way? Let us work together on trying to find out what it is!
Thanks. Yea if it continues for another week ill arrange with hospital.
Yea felt like that at work few days ago. I had to take 2days off. The doctor gave me betablockers but i dont think they are any good. Taking Nurofen Express as well.
Maybe you can explain more (if you're comfortable with it)? What is your lifestyle like? Is it stressful? Occupations/hobbies? What is your diet like? I have been finding that by eating an organic paleo diet has been helping slowly but my head still hurts and I feel out of it still. Do your eyes hurt too?
No not in a stressful environment but i suffer from anxiety a bit. Im not very active but I do diet. On weight watchers. I'm 160lbs, which is ok for a 5"9 male. My eyes hurt rarely. Its the back of my left eye sometimes. Optition said it perfect though.
I have anxiety and it seems to be a common theme with other people I have been talking to. Can you explain your sleep habits and eating habits?
I work 13:00 to 21:00 M-F. usually got to sleep around 2am. My anxiety starts when i try to go to sleep. But ive had to for years. I take 1 nytol every night. I eat about 1500 calories a day. Bit more on weekends.
My blood results came back and I have glandular fever. So at least its nothing very serious.
