Hi there...I'm a 40 year old female who suffers from extreme health anxiety...get different aches and pains and run daily to clinics...emergency rooms...currently constant upperstomache...loss of appetite..forcing myself to eat...Dr. recommended an upper endoscopy although he thinks I am 99.1 percent fine...he wants me to have it done to be 500 percent sure and ease my mind....does anyone else get this ? I'm crying and freaking out here...
Hi Leigh I’m same as you I’ve had every illness going (According to me ) At minute I’m totally in a terrible state about my back pains I’m in bits thinking the worse .earlier this year I had upper stomach pains that was put down to acid reflux (which anxiety causes ) and I had lack of appetite.i was given anti reflux tabs then I moved on to next “illness “ .i really think it’s down to your anxiety it causes so many physical problems.i really feel for you it’s a terrible thing to have health anxiety wishing you all the best
Hi Leigh, heightened anxiety can cause all sorts of physical manifestations. Absolutely, it can cause a loss of appetite. It's really not unusual to get stomach ache, pain or even an upset stomach. And when panicky, all your internal organs, mainly the bowel. If it would put your mind at rest, then have the endoscopy.

And I think, once you've had the procedure. Knowing anxiety, something else will crop up and what then? Another procedure? Surely, there's another option whereby you are not worrying about thinks so much. Effectively, treat the health anxiety. Message me anytime honey, Donna xxx

Absolutely. If it’s under your ribs it’s caused directly by anxiety but anxiety can worsen many harmless things like acid reflux. Try some Pepcid or reflux tabs.
