Constant Vertigo for 5 years

Oh, that's good. I'm also on betahistine but fortunately I don't get problems at night, mine are worse in the mornings. All the best, I hope you continue to improve.

Mine happens when I lay down. I have added an extra pillow, which I don't find very comfortable, but it does appear to be helping, most nights.

When it does happen, I get up and sit on the settee, all night, as I can't sleep.

All the best

It must be awful for it to affect your sleep :-(

I have a question for you all: I had leg and knee surgery 5 weeks ago stopping all pain meds over 4 weeks ago. Since being released from the hospital I have been very nauseous.

The strange thing is I wake up in the morning feelin fine but after I get up and use the restroom, 5 minutes later I am back in the bathroom with diahhrea them begin burping by the time I make it back to bed I am nauseous and sometimes vomiting. I am weak and feel ill most of the day. Then by around 4:00 pm I start feeling better and am almost normal by 7:00pm. Then I wake up the next morning and the crazy pattern repeats itself. This has been going on for 5 weeks now. Dr's gave me zofran and phenagren but they just make me worse. I do notice a slight dizziness in the evenings but no ear pain. Could this be a case of misplaced otoconia (ear rocks) causing vertigo? I have an appointment with a GI specialist tomorrow.

Thoughts?

Having been prescribed Stugeron (Cinnarizine) by the doctor, to be taken at night, was hoping it would stop the sleepless nights. But NO! it was back again last night. Only got 4 hours sleep, felt giddy when I turn over, felt sick. Ended up on the settee again...  Don't know what brings this on, but I wish it would go away.

Coupled with this I've been having horrendous nightmares and been told I have a 5 month wait for counselling. (For Family problems)

Any suggestions?

Best wishes to you all with your struggles.

Pauline

Oh my that is absolutely horrible.  I was a nervous wreck with dizziness for 10months!!!  Have you been in vestibular therapy?  My experience with amitriptyline was very helfful for treatment of anxiety.  After a while I felt as tho I couldn't swollow right.  A gastro enterologist told me to stop taking it as it slows everything down.  I stopped & the swollow issue went away.  We are all different tho.  I pray you get better.

I am 27 and i was diagnosed with type 2 diebetes 7 months ago. I had a1c of 18. But in 1 month i managed to reduce it to 5.36

The day i was fainted and diagnosed with diebetes after that day till today (its been 200 days) i am having constant motion of spinning , floating . It never stopped for a second. Whenever i am standing i feel like i am going to and fro .. whenever i am walking i feel like i am getting pushed to one side .. whenever i am on bed i feel like i am floating .. i am pretty depressed because of this. I did my MRI with spine also nystagmus and hearing tests all are normal. Visited neuro surgeon and ENT specialist they told i am normal. But only i can feel the vertigo. Can anybody please help me i am tired of this now. I am loosing my confidence in doing day to day activities.

My story: I returned from Utah with a virus which lead to bronchitis and then walking pneumonia which left me with vertigo in November 2016.

Since then I’ve had extremely limited driving ability, I’ve had to leave my career since I cannot see the details in legal documents, and a bit clumsy when vertigo gets bad.

I haven’t been to a neurotologist yet...next appointment I’m heading back to the ENT for ear test etc.

Last they told me it was viral not an inner ear issue...I too thought I had had a stroke or something. Trying hard to be optimistic. Latest drug they’ve tried was Effexor (?)....took 1 pill and was up for 2 days feeling awful. No more.

Good morning,

I have read your information regarding Vertigo.

I have suffered with a balance problem for over a year now and can’t get rid of it.
It started when I began wearing reading glasses. I had my eyes tested again and was told my vision had not changed since the last time.

I had a hearing test too. The outcome was fairly good. I have had Tinnitus for years but it does not really bother me.

I have been to three hospitals and various doctor appointments. Still waiting to get referred for the fourth time.
I have had various medications, anti histamines etc. Still no avail.

I have tried all the vestibular exercises. Still the same. Some days are worse than others. Up and down really.

I hope my information I have shared with you is useful.

Kind Regards,

Colin F.
