Hi, All my life I have suffered from constipation, but in the last four years it has changed.I have had tests that have come back normal, but I don't have a bm for about 4/5 days then I go and it's solid at first then followed by about two episodes of loose stools. I have been told it's ibs. I also get a bit of leakage around the solid stools and sometimes mucus. The whole thing is a nightmare. I am very stressed, don't suppose that helps. Does anyone get similar symptoms? Thanks for reading.
Sounds like IBS. Do you get pain that moves to different areas of your stomach and does the pain change in type and intensity? Do you get relief from a bowel movement and incomplete evacuation? If all your tests are negative, IBS can be diagnosed.
Go to the doctor. But while you wait, make your own food diary, write time you eat, syntomes, time you poop, how it looks, do it for at least a month, you will be surprised.
I have same problem, my test came back negative. But all had changed when I started my free wheat diet. My whole body changed, I feel so relieve. I'm going to another doctor as well for a ADN to test if I'm gluten intolerant, this is 100% acute for what I read.
Good luck.
Luckily, I don't have any food intolerances. It's stress that brings the pain on with me. However, if all your tests are negative, IBS can be confirmed.
Not IBS neither. Gluten intolerance cause pain and anxiety too.
Hope you feel better.
Thanks.
Thanks.
eat ginger 10 mins before taking meals, i did it for few days and get rid of constipation.
Unfortunately this does sound like IBS. When you get severe constipation some people find their bodies flush out the hard stools. Which is the bodys natural way of sorting it out. May be worth looking into a slight diet change, intaking more fibre and treating the constipation side of things rather than the loose stools. If you can work out how to regulate your bowel movements this may ease up for you. Its not impossible to do. I have read plenty of stories on how life changing a simple diet can be for constipation.
Thanks Emily, sounds like a plan to regulate the constipation and thereby get a normal bm. I will look into it.
Thanks again
Very much like IBS that one. Maybe got to your GP.
