Does anyone have any experience with consultants in the west of Scotland?

No but why not ask google?

No ...im in the north of England & have had my TRHR through a private hospital but paid for my the NHS ....most rivate consulatants do both & you can ask for information form the hospital

Hi there.

In 2004 I had a hip done and the other one in 2014 by Mr Kenneth Young at Ayr Hospital.  Both times were great and both a sucess.  Cannot recommend him highly enough - and the Hospital.  Hope this helps

thanks for getting back to me. Mr Young gave me my initial consultation but I haven't spoke to anyone until now that has been operated on by him.

I was in hospital with alot of other people who were having the same as me, and as far as I know,  all of the people I have kept in touch with, are all fine and have a good recovery time.  Obviously we are all different and some heal better than others but I had my op on Monday 2 June 2014 and was out on the Thursday.  Some went home on the Wednesday, but I had low blood pressure and was kept in an extra day.  Hospital was fine, and the food (at least for me) was very nice.  The staff were attentive and very helpful as were the occupational therapist and the physical therapists.  They do not let you go until you can climb stairs and put on your own clothes.

I am 100 per cent pain free and can walk perfectly.
