control ...

it is really hard to control yourself sometimes, i mean that mbybe my temprament is not so good ? i am not sure! i just don't want to be so irritable ,impatient.  especially for my kid. i am trying and learning .   encourage me please.........

Claire your not alone!! I often find myself lashing out at my kids, husband and colleges. I find if I feel myself getting irriatable if i take a few deep breaths and remind myself it's not there fault I'm feeling that way it does help. Hang in there and know your not alone.

Hey Claire,

It is so hard when what is going on with our hormones is playing havoc with our nerves. I am sure you are a lovely person. The fact that you wish you weren't irritable and impatient shows you have insight and kindness.

I really went through this (or rather have been going through this! it's not over yet!). I did cut sugar and caffeine out of my diet, and recently I have said goodbye even to chocolate. How sad! Exercise is a big help. Essentially, it all comes to the hormones that are flowing through us, and whatever we can do to dampen their effects is good news.

I was so irritable with my students, I had to quit my job, I was just so conscious of the effect of my irritability on them. And I struggled to find things to help. I do take anti-depressants, and I take a herbal supplement to balance my hormones. I use progesterone cream, which is controversial, but really helps me. Also I take iron supplements because I am anemic. And I find anemia really makes things worse, temper-wise.

I know we all have to find our own ways through this, but I send you sympathy  and respect, and hope you find things to alleviate your symptoms.

You are so on Claire

I have a temper at times that is hard to control and I take it out on my boyfriend who is good to me.

When you feel like yelling go to another room before you take it out on the kids and scream into a pillow thats the best thing to do thats what I need to do instead of yelling at my boyfriend and slaming doors

It takes work and practice it does to calm down before yelling at anyone

Hang in there
