My health anxiety is related to a constant thought I've got a brain tumour...
I've had neuro exams, bloods, eye exams & been put on numerous meds (none have worked...now taking Propanalol which is helping with the palps) but still can't shake this fear...dr won't send me for mri or ct but has referred me to a neurologist headache clinic...awaiting app...
I just don't know what to do anymore...I constantly feel "off" like I'm here but not here, I have constant headache which affects the front of my head (been told it's chronic tension headaches) feel so tired and an achy neck...I have other symptoms that come & go which I've mentioned in previous posts...
I just don't understand why I'm anxious & how it can make me feel like this...I've accepted I have anxiety but my symptoms won't go...
Does anyone feel or have similar thoughts & feelings...having a bad day today...
Yes I get bad te stin headache... Pressure in my head and forhead and feeling as if I'm not there... Brain fog... Not with it.... Normal anxiety
It's horrible isn't it...have u had mri or ct scans
i really don't think you have a brain tumour, or your doctor would have sent you for an MRI or CT scan.
All your other tests came back normal, which is great.
I am sure that anxiety can cause this fear in you - and the symptoms. Anxiety is capable of doing all of this to you. Read some other people's posts on this website and you'll soon find you're not alone.
You have to learn to control the anxiety, not let the anxiety control you.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy helps many people who think they have diseases, but actually haven't.
I've had cbt - 9 sessions were all I was allowed & it helped me learn ways to manage panic attacks but not so much in a different way of thinking...
I've asked for an mri/ct but GP just said I don't need it & hell refer me to neuro for the headaches...
The posts on here give me some relief at times, but within hours I'm back to square one & my mind is racing with all sorts of thoughts...
Yes I had both and they came back normal
But why don't you believe your GP?
Hello jadee
Have your further tests, then you can understand what your problems are and work out what you can do to sort these problems out
Anxiety can cause your symptoms, it would seem your GP feels it is not a tumour.
All I would suggest if you are not happy with these further results ask for further test
BOB
Hi bob,
I'm hoping that when I finally have my app with the neuro headache clinic they will do some further investigations & help me come to terms with what is happening in my body & mind...my GP just tells me it's anxiety & to try different meds...like I said in my post, I've started Propanalol now (2 weeks ago) and it helps with the palps but doesn't help with the headache/head sensations...
I have no other reason than my brain tells me not too...I've even seen other gps at my practice & they say the same as him...it's anxiety & to try & use techniques to calm my train of thought...which is easier said than done when my brain is adamant there's something wrong...
Hello Jadeewins
Keep taking your medications, they do seem to work more effective given time
We are here i needed

Have you checked into lyme disease? Doctors never seem to think of it but it is worth researching. I promise you, as I know this from personal experience. At least check into the common symptoms of lyme and it's co-host (bartonella)
Do you want to know something really weird? My cousin had a brain tumor and she never even had any anxiety with it. Its not a pre requisite .
I've had everything you have plus numbing in the extremities especially my whole face and head. It's hard to say it's just anxiety. Once I've came to accept it was I tried everything and what seemed to help me the most was massage and manual therapy plus chiropractor to adjust my Atlas. Your neck and shoulders might not be sore but they could be tense causing all of your symptoms.
Also changed my diet drastically. That didn't get rid of all my symptoms but I didn't know I could feel this for just eating right, haha.
Dear Adam,
I have been toying with the idea of visiting an osteopath/chiropractor but didn't know if that would help...I carry all of my tension in my neck & shoulders which I know doesn't help my headache situation...massage helps but I can't afford to have it done on a regular basis!
I'd definitely visit the chiro then. All it takes is a bad alignment up there to cause all that tension.
. Maybe get a stim too if it doesn't cost too much.
Awwwwwwwwwwww that s***s.
Sorry if I sounded dismissive. I recognise now that this is part of your illness (the anxiety part) and I truly hope that you recover from it.
Blessings.
