Hello, i am 25 male with self-diagnosed COPD ( started like few weeks ago ), i've been binge drinking for more than a year and thats probs what caused it in such age, currently i have some pretty severe episodes of neck contraction sensations together with fullness/lack of breath. But if i drink some alcohol even single can of beer the symptoms gets gone, is that normal or it could be not COPD at all but instead some sort of panic/anxiety due to alcohol withdrawal ?
Forgot to mention that when i am starting "suffocating" it gets better with "fake" cough or swallowing saliva and belching/wheezing makes it go away, so it's not some common anxiety "shortness of breath", sometimes i also cough out some saliva ( muscus? ).
Hi
The only way to diagnosis COPD is by a Spirometer Test.
The causes, of COPD are inhalation of smoke or toxic fumes.
A further cause is Alpha 1 Deficiency
Again the only sure way is get a Doctors Appointment for further resting and help with you alcohol dependency, which will not help you health.
Can't answer your question as this is all new to me but regarding alcohol I have been teetotal for nearly 35 years
Hi it would be unusual to have copd at your very young age as it is normally diagnosed after decades of smoking and after 40. It is not unheard of but rare.
You need to stop diagnosing yourself and get expert advice from a health professional is my advice!
As far as alcohol goes many people reply on this and in the short term it can seem to help. Long term though is a different matter entirely. It can not only mess with your brain but your body as well. It is also a depressant and make this worse.
Make an appointment with your doctor. x
Doesn't sound like COPD to me. Suggest you see a Doctor for diagnosis.
