Coping with genital herpes.

Just like to know if there is anything to stop the pain while going to the toilet. I've tried going in the bath but it still stings very bad. Although this is my first outbreak and I've been on medication for two days I seem to be in even more pain when walking, seating and trying to sleep. Has anyone got any advice with dealing with this pain also.

Zovirax cream, prescribed by doctor

Hey, your initial outbreak is always the worst. Try getting a bottle or cup and when you wee pour water on your area to dilute the urine. Before I knew I had gh unused antibiotic ointment and that helped me. Best of luck.

Drink half your weight in oz of water daily (140 lb = 70 oz)

If you're female, spread things apart, to avoid contact urine to lesions.

I've heard Oragel helps for general herpes pain

Acetaminophen or ibuprofen and topical lidocaine for pain relief. Drink lots of water to keep urine diluted, and pour water down there while peeing.

Hi,

It was extremely painful for me as well... I found that leaning completely forward almost like head close to knees worked for me. The urine flowed the opposite way from the sores. It's the worst pain I've ever had, for a entire week. Took the whole week off of work with a dr note. Sorry to hear, I know it sucks. I told my Dr that as well. Lol hope that helps.. oh also take some over the counter naproxen.. it helps with inflammation.

Hello. Hope you are okay. As one who has this also I know how you feel. Ill never know how i contracted it but thats another matter. Anyway, I dont know how you physician is for perscribing medication but you might ask him/her about lidocaine 2%. Due to me being in so much pain always and especially to use the washroom, that is what he perscribed me. I find it works wonders for me to be pain free when i need it. I use it while take the medication for it. Hope it helps.
