I've had anxiety most of my life. It wasn't until my car accident in 2002 that it was triggered. I only recently have gotten help. What are different ways you've found helpful for coping with your anxiety? I see a therapist and am on meds...
That is a good combination to over come the anxiety. The med needs time to work ( i started it late Dec and going up to the target dose and i am still waiting for it to work ). And the therapy will help you to deal with your anxiety. By the time your med starts to work, live normal and do the things that trigger your anxiety to overcome the triggers so that when you off the med you can be anxiety free.
I also see a therapist every week I've also had anxiety most of my life mainly OCD and had a panic attacks last year which nocked me sideways and brought on a shed load of other Symtoms to.
I find mindfullness meditation helps (never thought I would hear myself saying that a few year ago but hey hooo lol)
I'm also on meds mitrazpine and propanolol what meds are you on? 🙂
I went through taking all my medications at different times of the day, it seeded to work as it seemed in my case to control my side effects
If you see your CPN soon hopefully you will learn different techniques there as well as your own ways of helping yourself
Try Mindfulness, explained in Related Information hopefully if you have picked up this method it will hopfully give a longer time to discuss your codition

You have already taken the right steps. by consulting a professional but there are lots of coping skills to help you on your road to recovery.
Have a look on the net ... There are pod casts and meditations etc.
I always find those helpful.
Biofeedback was the most useful thing i learned along the way. They hooked me to a machine so when they taught breathing it helped guide me to the best way and most productive outcome. Mindful exercises are a Godsend once
learned. You are on the track. Be patient.
I've tried mediataions...guided ones and can't ever fully focus. I don't always know my triggers at first and end up not being able to get out of my own head. Everything that can go wrong in my life...@ those moments are apparently happening. I've accused my husband for years that he was gonna screw me over like everyone else...my self-esteem sucked for so long and I could never see My worth. I actually get stress induced laryngitis if it's real bad.
Along with the anxiety, I have ocd and adhd. I guess with age...I stopped being able to handle things the way I use to...
I started meds in August...started a with fluoxetine then we added the adderal... Upped both does until recently.. I was switched to effexor... Fluoxetine gave me a headache daily... So were trying this combo...so far ok.
My anxiety literally started in kindergarten. It got really bad in my 20s to the point where I thought I had MS with all the crazy symptoms. I was fine but continue to battle anxiety. What I found that really helped was first of all speaking with the counselor. They see this on a daily basis and have the tools you need to help overcome this. I keep going even though I feel better. It's great and like a lifeline for me.
another thing that instantly releases the anxiety is regular exercise even if it's just a long walk most days of the week. When I'm done it puts me in such a better mood and way more relaxed.
One last thing, stay as active as possible. The worst thing we can do is sit around and think too much. That will definitely increase the anxiety and related symptoms. You have to be a fighter for yourself and be determined .
But seriously consider speaking with a counselor because sometimes this is very hard to overcome on your own.
