Hello all and thanks for reading ive been having this cough for weeks now. sometimes i cough up white mucus and sometimes it light green but not very often. a little bit of post nasal drip and wheezing but nothing too bad. im a diagnosed hypochondriac so yeah of coursed im worried about it being cancer. used to smoke but not anymore. im 20 years old. fit and healthy for the most part. ive been running for a while in the AM while its cold so maybe thats fhe case but idk. just need reassurance. i havent even been smoking for a year i only did it for a few months then quit.
if you only smoked for a few months, you don’t have lung cancer.people who get that smoke for years and years. Sounds like you have picked up a virus somewhere. There’s a lot of that going around. Make sure you’re drinking a lot of water that will get rid of the mucus and keep you hydrated. Stay out of the cold, you don’t need to get pneumonia!
The old remedy of chicken noodle soup is actually a great thing to have when you’re feeling this way.! If your mucus stays green, or you develop a fever, let your doctor know because it could be an infection and you would need to take antibiotic.
don’t let fear run your life. Most 99.9% of the things we worry about never happened. Think of the most obvious reason for symptoms first like catching a cold rather than cancer which is highly unlikely. Stay warm and take care of yourself! ![]()
Hi corbin , have you been checked for sinus infection or bronchitis ? Both can have colored drainage and a persistent cough . Its probably one of the two . Go get checked , you will need antibiotics for either
thank you so much for the kind words! 殺 take care of yourself out there as well.
not yet foing to the doctor next week thank you for the response
