OK so a bit of background on me. I have a chronic problem with yeast infections that at times I have been able to keep under control with probiotics and proper diet. I am sometimes itchy a few days before or after my period, also semen upsets the Ph in my vagina. When I get a bad YI I will feel itchy and dry and get a small fissure/cut near the opening of my vagina. Never in a different spot and I think it's because 10 yrs ago I had a bad infected ingrown hair which the Dr had to pop and treat so I feel the skin is thin in that spot. 2.5 weeks ago I had my period along with eating sugar, drinking, and bad habits for several days. I got a yeast infection and had a fissure in the same spot as usual. I tried to treat with just yogurt but throughout this week I had record breaking temps at 115 f and I work at the pool wearing a tight spandex bikini, I was literally sweating my vagina off all week. To make matters worse I was also lazy and rewashing my bottoms with a shampoo in the shower which I have now looked at and read that's its anti dandruff 2-1 shampoo conditioner . I have very sensitive skin, a month ago I got a combo of heat rash and allergic reaction to a shirt I was wearing with a rash on my inner arm. So at the end of the week all of a sudden one morning I had all these red bumps like 8 on my perineum. I went to the Gyno the next day and he immediately said herpes. He told me the fissure for sure looked like herpes (which I don't believe it was) and the bumps possible look like molluscum. He swabbed the fissure and tested for yeast,bv, and touch. It'll be a week Friday so two more days but I'm finding it hard to wait it out. The Dr didn't really let me explain about my situation which I did above just wanted to give me antivirals which I declined until find out the results but I did ask for Diflucan which he gave and I took 5 days ago. I still feel itchy in the vulva and sometimes skin like during a YI. I didn't notice any swelling or painful or problematic urination. I did have soreness in the vaginal area but it felt more so on the inside like I'd had rough sex almost. Other than that if I poked the bumps they were tender but not full of any fluids. I have been liberally applying coconut oil, ad anti fungal and the bumps are gone they are now red raw skin which I am applying anti bacterial cream on. I do now have a head cold but no fever or swelling so it could just be allergies I get it alot where I live. I might have felt some numbness in legs but it's hard to tell it might be in my head and I also pulled my back out deadlocking at the gym a few days ago. On the flip side of all this my husband does get bad cold sores hsv1 and I have never had one. He did go down on me 2 weeks ago but claims he didn't feel one coming on or anything abnormal. Where did you have the bumps where they all in same spot could be contact dermatitis too and if you had that same area scabbed before and it was yeast most likely it's that ....did he do a culture for hsv 2 there's no picture
It was all the same area yes perineum. DaMN i can't upload I'll try to figure that out
Are they sore painful I'm sure anything is that urine goes over but it very well can be other things as well so many doctors just say yes herpes without doing tests so many other things can resemble herpes I don't blame you for refusing antiviral until your sure ...
Here is the photo. It looks worse than it is. Went from bumps to just smooth raw skin within 5 days no antivirals. Looks dry in the area because of all the stuff I've been putting on it.
A recurring fissure and yeast infection is rather suspicious. Could indeed be herpes, so it's a good thing your doctor swab tested the lesion for it. Best to wait for the results.
No not sore now even if I touch the area. When I pee I lean over so no urine gets on the area since it is fresh skin. I uploaded a photo but I guess it has to be moderated. My cold seems to be feeling a bit worse it was just runny nose and Sinal congestion, today I do have body ache but no swelling in lymph nodes or fever. Hard to say because I do get a flu like this every so often due to climate and allergies.

Hi ali44921- I am so sorry to hear what is going on with you...but at this point....your husband should not be going down on you!! And if you say he's got hsv1...neither of you should have oral sex!! You need to get the result from your Doctor and with full explanations for moving on with each other in the future. Cold soares can be transmitted to you as well......so you both should visit the Doctor for information to guide you both. This is a very serious and complicated Viruses that can not be cured...but must be controlled by taking the right medication. Each soares are highly contageous.....and can be transmitted easily. Especially through kissing and that means even a kiss on the cheek to anyone...kids....babies...mother......father....siblings....strangers.....anyone!!! Especially if your husband have hsv1.......he will have to refrain himself from kissing, please both of you follow up with your Doctor for more information on how to move forward in the future with this. ali- You might have genital herpes......and you need to get medication to conrol the outbreak!! But...I am not the Doctor....so you must get your result right away and very quick!!! Good-luck...talk to me anytime.
ali44921 does not have dermatitis or yeast infection! This is a serious virus.....and she needs to get her result right away......cause this is more likely a genital herpes....and will need to start medication a.s.a.p!!!!
Hey guys, just wanted to inform you my swab was negative, and I did have a yeast infection. The fissure was my recurring yeast and the bumps were contact derm from was I was washing my undies with and sweat/heat. The Dr told me he was SURE it was herpes even tho I was quite sure it wasnt. So just get the swab..not everything is herpes. #there'shope lol I'm Def gonna be smarter now!!
OK so nvm. I Hadn't heard back for 2 weeks and wasn't getting a callback. My swab was positive for HSV1 altho the other cultures such as yeast, bv,trich were negative which I find hard to believe because I am SURE I had a yeast infection. So I'll wait 2 months than get the blood test.
The swab test is a direct diagnosis and pretty accurate, especially when the result is positive. An IgG blood test will only indicate that you are infected with the virus *somewhere*, but not where . So, you can certainly test for IgG antibodies later, even though you are already confirmed to have genital Type 1. Whenever you feel the same way again, bear in mind that that could be how herpes presents itself in you, so it could well be another outbreak.
