Could I be having anxiety?

For the best 2 months i have been experiencing scary symptoms. I will just start from the beginning. The first time this all start i was feeling like my normal self almost a little under the weather. I was driving and Suddenly felt like I could not swallow or catch a satisfying breath and my heart started racing. Since after that day I have been getting the feeling of not being able to get a satisfying breath. Doesn’t happen everyday and when it does it’s out of blue. I also get dizziness, face will feel weird and sometimes my throat will feel like it tightening on me I get neck pain that goes into the back of my head. Since this has been happening I can not stop thinking about these and thinking about when they will reoccur. This is starting to affect my daily life. I have been to doctors oxygen levels are normal blood work is normal X-ray of my chest is normal. Today I had ent doctor look down my nose to my throat and also everything looks normal. Could this be anxiety ???

Yes, sounds like anxiety. Also can be acid reflux or silent GERD. Many people with anxiety have both. I was told that the nerves for feeling hungry and feeling out of breath run close to each other and reflux damage can cause them to get confused. Reflux can also cause inflammation in your lungs similar to asthma. But anxiety can also cause stomach issues. It’s like the saying what came first the chicken or the egg. Check out the symptoms for “silent reflux” and get checked for it.

Health wise the condition is not serious. Anxiety alone with no other medical conditions can cause all these symptoms. When adrenaline is released it redirects blood flow, can make you feel dizzy and your body demands more oxygen making you feel out of breath when you are not low on oxygen. Anxiety can cause so many body problems. Sometime my heart rate will be in the 160 bpm range just laying down with a bad anxiety attack. Good luck, get checked out. Get help through therapy.

same symptoms…I was diagnosed with severe anxiety and panic disorder…I also get light headed feel faint and leg muscles tighten feel like there swollen. Scary feeli g then your body is alway in flight or fight mode because your worried about the next attack…I take zoloft and xanax to control my symptons

Thanks for replying. my biggest issue is the breathing and dizzyness. My breathing issues change from time to time. Sometimes it will be that i cannot get a good breath and other times its almost like i have to do a throat clearing that resembles a cough.
