Could I go to a pathologist

Hello! Well, there's any nutritionist in my area, so I wondered if I can go to my pathologist to help me with food supplements etc. Could he help me?

Why do you need food supplements? Why not eat normal food for your nutrients?

Ι don't eat many foods to be honest and I feel low all the time. I'm very thin so yeah

Do you really mean pathologist? No idea where you live - but in the UK  the only people who are looked at a by a pathologist are dead.

But if you feel you need food supplements over and above a good diet - it is the doctor you need to speak to.

Oh I am so so sorry. English is not my first language so I thought it would be the same as in my language. In English it's: Internist specialist (I just searched it)

Sorry again

No need to apologise. The word internist is used in the USA but rarely in the UK. You haven't said where you LIVE  - that makes a difference too.

Where I live, you ask your family doctor to order lab studies, and with the results you go to a dietitian who helps you plan a balanced diet which fits your taste and budget and medical needs. Only if the dietitian's help is inadequate will you need food supplements. She will also guide you as to which supplements are safe to take.

Problem is there's no dietitian in my town, that's why I asked if I can go to an internist

In that case, definitely ask your internist. He may also have suggestions about pamphlets to read about nutrition which can help you plan a healthy diet.
