I'm wondering if anyone can help. I suffered from migraines for a year and had attributed my visual disturbances to that however they rarely end up being migraines now.
I saw an optician who said I was sensitive to light but I've had 8 visual field tests all coming back as not normal but I haven't had any answers. My left arm and leg
My left arm and leg are often numb, have pins and needles or a deep cramping feeling and I've been waking up with a tight feeling under my rib cage some mornings. Those symptoms, a general weakness in my limbs, stiffness and sometimes a funny walk (but not drop foot) makes me a little concerned. Any advice would help me to understand what is happening to my body. Other than that I'm a healthy 26year old!
hi, while the short answer would be yes it could be MS, it could also be a jumble of different, less worrying things. i haven't heard of others with ms (like me, sorry i didn't say, diagnosed 2004) having migraines, but each of your other symptoms do sound like possible ms. ms is a notoriously tricky condition to 'pin down', many of us go for years without a diagnosis (dx), finding out much later that we do. the best advice i could give anyone who is suspicious that they have ms, is: keep a written record of both symptoms, and when these symptoms began and/or ended. lots of us realise that a record would have been useful for dx. i always recommend the MS Society's web site for information about, and, via the forums (especially 'everyday living', support for both people with ms and those who might be dx.
i'm sorry i can't be more use to you. i have to end by cautioning you (or any other reader) from fixing on an idea, such as ms, and focussing on it as it can both confuse the process of dx and cause someone a lot of sleepless nights.
Thank you for the response. I think because of having migraines I often put my issues with my vision just down to that and it wasn't until my friend with ms suggested I should go to the doctors because of the increase of odd things that have occured. I will keep a note though. That's a useful idea'
