Could it be skin cancer? Mark on arm for 4 weeks.

Hi,

I'm a 22 year old male with no real health issues, normal blood pressure, heart rate, weight etc.

About 4 weeks ago I found this itchy red mark on my arm which has little red dots in it. I've all of a sudden found that marks for this long can often be cancerous. I've been losing sleep over the thought of dying of skin cancer (dramatic I know). But I'm terrified and I don't know how to deal with it.

If possible can someone tell me I'm being stupid or if I need to get checked badly.

Anything new on your skin that isn't healing should be checked out by your Gp to put your mind at rest. if they are not sure they will refer you to a Dermatologist.

Hi,

As anne29714 advised, GO TO YOUR GP. 

It is a simple painless check and a referral usually takes no more than 2 weeks. If you require any biopsies they are usually very straightforward.

Hi Ryan. The mark you describe on your arm could be a bug bite. However, it wouldn't hurt to see your doctor. They are usually familiar with spider bites, etc. Then you would feel better if it isn't anything serious. harrishill

If it's itching sounds like dermatitis in red patches contact at that my arm looked like bites but they determined it as only contact dermatitis cleared up.with cream they prescribed me. Goo see a dermatologist put your mind at ease keep us updated on what it was ok 😊
