Although i have never been diagnosed with gall bladder issues. The pains in my back and the regular bouts of rushed toilet visits is concerning me. Due to my losing over 3 stones in weight over the last year I have had a Colonoscopy with no definitive response.
I have been advised my glucose levels are currently too high but reading reports the gall bladder can cause issues with the pancreas which in turn can cause me having such regular visits to the loo. I am waiting for my consultant get back to me since my latest bowel check before I ask her the same question.
I have very regular pain in my upper rib area of my rightside but no heartburn type pains currently.
Thank you.
Hi, The Gall Bladder will be right hand side pain between navel and rib cage which you may find travels, if your getting back pain more than front this could be Kidney issue? If you eat fatty foods and then you suffer this would be Gall Bladder but that would depend on the level of illness of it.You have said 3 stone over a over a year, that is gradual weight loss, when my Gall Bladder started I lost 2 stone in Dec & Jan. This was simply because as days marched on the less I could eat. Your Glucose level is probably more to do with how your eating but as it is not rapid loss again I do not think its Gall Bladder.
You do not have to have chest pain but if it carries on you will do, depending why its upset. The issue for you is complicated by Diabetes and is definitely a problem because you will not be able to eat fatty foods and probably Dairy which in turn will upset Glucose levels? Your brain will be telling your body to burn fat cells rather than storing fat, so this I can see being an issue for you but I am sure your Dr would have said by now if it is a worry and more so if your Type 1 Diabetes. When most people have Gall Bladder issues you tend to find you can eat very little and that causes rapid weight loss? Vomiting and Diarrhea and usually chest pain are the signs, also you can find laying down an issue but this depends if it is a blocked stone or not in one of your ducts, or it could be sludge.
If the Liver is upset with the Gall Bladder then you may find the pain does travel through your back to your shoulder (right side). Diabetes unfortunately will make diagnosing you, a problem because of the mechanics of the body and Diabetes is well known for affecting so many parts of the body, just the same as the Liver can, I understand why you may feel about the Pancreas because the Liver can also mimic these problems. And to be honest if you look up your symptoms on the net, the digestive system all have the same things associated. Such as fever, well that comes with vomiting!
So if you eat fatty foods or Dairy and you end up feeling unwell this probably will be Gall Bladder and another little thing is fish or crustaceans, prawns and so forth .
However I come back to gradual weight loss which sort of points you away from Gall Bladder but more to do with Diabetes? If this is your first year with this problem and it IS your Gall Bladder without doubt you will get worse if it is not sorted out and that will be you noting what your eating and drinking habits which upsets you? The longer it goes on the less you will be able to eat so your Dr may send you for other scans.
I hope this wont make your New Year festivities a bore.
