I have had no appetite for almost 4 weeks straight now. Ive been extra gassy and feel bloated/full all the time. My stomach never growls anymore or feels hungry even when I dont eat. I have been having some dull upper abdominal pain that occurs on both sides - just below the rib/under the rib on the right and the left. Some times the pain is also in my back. It is not very painful and seems to be all over the place. I have been waking up really hot at night and having night sweats. The other weird thing is I have had extra heavy menstrual bleeding since this all started.
I have had liver function tests that came back normal. I had a endoscopy that showed nothing other than mild gastritis. I had a CT scan that came back normal. I also had an ultraosund that came back normal other than a small amount of mobile sludge in the gallbladder. My doctor thinks this is a gallbladder issue and that I need to have my galbladder removed. Did anyone else have similar symptoms to these??
yes it can be. towards the end i no longer had hunger pain/growls. and got full faster when i did eat.
thanks for the reply @blanca1111 . where you in a lot of a pain with your gallbladder? ive had no prior issues with the gallbladder. this all started out of nowhere one day.
Before I had my gallbladder attack I couldn’t eat anything except biscuits. Lost my appetite completely. I was in pain. The GO felt my gall bladder and said if the problem was with it I would howl with pain. I didn’t but the problem was gall bladder. I had a gigantic stone. I had gall bladder removed 6 months later after being on a very low fat diet.
It does sound like you have gallbladder issues. I had symptoms for quite a few years and when they really began to get unbearable I went to my GP who sent me for a scan. Apparently the stones were quite tiny, but they caused me more pain than both times I gave birth to my children. I note your appetite is pretty much zero, but try altering your diet if you haven’t already - leave off anything fatty. Check food labels. Drink plenty of water. I felt very sick and vomited on and off. You need to go back to your doctor, especially as he believes what you have is gallbladder issues.
Sending you best wishes.
I am in the same situation. it’s been 5 months of progressive ruq pain and nausea that’s now constant. I have had every test possible and they cant find anything. ugh I’m miserable. I wonder how often this happens and people get it taken out and it turns out to be the gallbladder all along??
Three years for me but I’m in the UK and I suspect from your posts I’ve seen recently you aren’t?
Yes seen many people with normal testing and when they have it removed their gallbladder is full of sludge, stones, infected, scared, infected etc.
This is no guarantee But as said I’ve seen what you’ve asked many times.
Good luck ![]()
