Could this be a gallbladder issue?:(

Hey.

Could any of you guys, please give me,your oppinion on this,as it is causing me alot of anxiety.

For the past year I have had pain in the bottom of my sterum and my back between my shoulder blades it is a gnawing agony that is at its worst as soon as I eat it would seem. I have a feeling of fullness at the bottom of my sternum and daily indigestion that hurts Too. I also suffer alot of trapped wind bloating and light orangey colours stool stools sorry for to much information but does sound familiar as the daily pain is distressing me to the point of panic attacks as its, getting in the way of my enjoying my life!

Hi

i had pain in the middle of my ribs and across both sides ... I only got pain on the right side the last few months before surgery .. I had gallbladder attacks i now realise for 15 years annually generally but was misdiagnosed with gastritus and ulcers ... Propberly because I didn't have right sided pain...

I got panic attacks too as I was terrified of these annual colic vomiting agony climbing the walls in pain attacks..I was told they were food poisoning and so got a food phobia of being sick ... Got terrified of meat, eggs etc that good give me food poisoning ..lived as a veggie ...and got obsessed with clean food etc..

can you imagine the relief when I was scanned and diagnosed and since removal I eat meat , eggs and my obsession phobia of food poisoning has gone 💫💥👍😀

my advice get scanned and if it's gallstones get it removed ... Stop the panic attacks getting a grip ... In the meantime low fat food , or no fat food no caffeine etc should settle it down ..hope that helps ...

Hi, to me the symptoms sound vey much like gallbladder issues

I had mine out 3 weeks ago after several years of pain. Do go and see a doctor because if you don't you may land up with an emergency. Waiting lists are long for the operation itself and because mine flared up I had to go private. I couldn't wait the 14-16'eeeks for being operated on via the NHS which happens unless you are in danger of departing this life. Having the operation is pretty straight forward usually ss it is done key hole and I have 3 tiny scratch like scars and a slightly bigger one on the wall of my bellybutton. I am in my mid 70s and today I had been able to do almost as much as I was able to do before my operation. Good luck. M

Thank you both. I have seen my Dr but she has put the cheat pain down to anxiety but it is the cheat pain that has caused the anxiety!

I am going to ring my drs on Monday as I really cannot cope with this constant pain any longer I've never been so low!

Sorry *chest pain.

Try and pursuade your GP to get to referred forca gallbladder scan. Your scan will show up stones if they are there. At least that will help to defuse the idea that you are just overly anxious if they show up.Maggie by

Thank you for the advice.

You need to  get your gall bladder scanned for gall stones which is the only  definitive diagnosis. If it is the case you would be advised to go on a very low fat diet which should then stop the pain. ( no more than 5% fat in anything my surgeon told me) It is the gall bladder that squirts bile when the gall bladder detects fat, but if the bile duct is blocked then that's when the pain and discomfort kicks in. Pale clay coloured stools are typical of this condtion. I know have been there and got the tee shirt! Very straight forward common procedure done laprascopically, usually out of hospital the next day with four little puncture wounds on your abdomen...simples! I am a 59 year old male and I can eat pretty much anything too, had it out  four years ago. Hope this helps a little.

Is gallbladder disease different to gallstones?and how would that be detected?

Hi When I had my first attack of GB I was pregnant of 37 weeks and I didn't have a clue what it was except that was an horrific pain that wouldn't go away. After the birth of my child, I kept having these horrific attacks and I was on a very low fat diet. I think even if you're good with the food if gallstones move to your bile duct and get it blocked you're at risk of getting pancreatitis. That's what happen to me. Somehow I couldn't stop the attacks and ended up with pancreatitis and an emergency surgery. I had several gallstones in my GB, but some people have an infected gallbladder with no gallstones. For the first the scan will show, for the second i am not sure, but I know my mum doesn't have gallstones but has a GB inflamed which they discovered while doing a stomach exam. It sounds that you might have some GB problem, but get it checked with the a doctor asap, because it can cause other serious problems and of course life is no fun at all when you're in a lot pain. xx

Yes I tooo had episodes of infected gallbladder and gallstones. The gallbladder infection was only confirmed after the gallbladder was removed but I had the yellow stools and great discomfort and flatulence. Get the scan as afirst step. Maggie

Don't let the fact you are prone to anxiety be used by your doctor .

people with anxiety do get other conditions

and they often get overlooked by doctors always putting it down to anxiety and stress..

If your scan is clear then yes the doctor can diagnose anxiety but not before

Have an ultrasound to check if you have gallstones. I had ultrasound at Christmas, have gallstones and am waiting to have my gallbladder removed, but atleast I know what it is.

My attacks are simply to do with gallstones and pain (not panic attacks), but they can come on completely out of the blue which means I am afraid to go very far.

Have this ultrasound then atleast you will know for sure.

Take care

Sarah

Hey, I dont really have attacks of pain

Well no sharp pain. It is more,of a constant ache in/below my sternum and back that gets alot worse whenever I eat. I feel painfully bloated rolleyes and my stools are light orange rather than yellow.

I am only 28 too however this has been going on since I was pregnant last yr.

I also have constant indigestion especially after I eat is this a symptom?

And im allways regurgitating even when ive only drank tea rolleyes

Gall bladder desease is caused by having gallstones.

Hi rochelle,

Your symptoms are very similar to mine. I had a semi attack on my right side last night and my pooh this morning was a rainbow of yellow and Orange and brown.

Because my scans do not show gallstones, or sludge the surgeon immediately said I think it's chronic pancreatitis! This was a shock to say the least! I still believe it's my gall bladder! Pain in my sternum, and right side into my back. Some left side tingles. Indigestion and heart burn even after eating very little and sometimes just a cup of tea!

All my problems started in my 8 month of pregnancy my baby is currently 9 months old and I still have no answers!

I hope you can get a scan and get yourself sorted!

Yes heart burn and indigestion can be symptoms of gallbladder stones or disease.

Gem smile

Really i thought that was either caused by alcohol or gallstones?
