Hi. My son had bad fatigue and headache for around 5 months 18 months ago. He had blood tests and nothing showed up. Then he seemed to get better and back to normal. About a month ago the fatigue came back and he is once again wiped out but managing to work but no social life at all. He is 30. He doesn’t have the joint pains or sore throat which I read about. Could this be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
He was abroad for 5 months before it started 18 months ago and wonder if he could’ve picked something up. Thanks for any insight into this.

Hi there sue. I have SLE LUPUS. CFS is a big part of lupus... Lupus can have flare ups as u described. We are tired all the time. Just totally exhausted. When testing for lupus not all the symptoms appear all at once. Lupus does take a long time to diagnose. There are a few different types of lupus with many side effects... I think that u should keep a diary of his daily fatigue and would suggest further tests , or retesting . Keep notes on any other symptoms he may have no matter how insignificant u think they may be. Depression can also cause his symptoms as well.

Thanks Tracey. Don’t know much about lupus. Will find out more about it. He insists he is not depressed and when he’s fine hes OK. Loves his work, has a partner. But works very hard.
