Could this be herpes?! I have been with only my husband for the past 4 years. He doesnt have herpes and I have never seen anything on him to think otherwise.

I shaved on friday and pretty aggressively with a dull razor. On monday I felt some irratation down there and figured it was razor burn or an ingrown hair. Yesterday I showed my husband because I thought it was filled with fluid and he said it just looks like an ingrown hair. Today I took these pics and it looks like the bumps are filled with fluid to me. Freaking out! And we are in the process of trying to have a baby!

Is it painful?
Could be bacterial cause of the razor but it could be herpes! Most people are carriers and never have symptoms!
If your worried your best to get it checked!

Yes, it is a little painful. Not excruciating or anything. I feel completely fine otherwise.

I was just diagnosed with herpes. I’ve been with my husband 10 years and neither of us have shown any symptoms. It can happen. I just decided to get tested, never have I before.

This is what it looks like today. :frowning: Really worried. Seeing the OBGYN tomorrow. Does this still look like herpes?

Thing is, I was pregnant last year and I could have sworn they tested for everything and it all came back negative. So that is why I have no idea how this could have happened?!

I thought so too when I was pregnant, but my doctor confirmed they do not normally test for HSV unless you request it, even if pregnant. If you did test for it, and now you are positive, unfortunately it may mean your husband contracted it since then.

Or that he had it this whole time and didnt know? He has never had an outbreak since we have been together but is getting tested next week to make sure. We have sex pretty often and I have never seen anything on him.

Isnt this supposed to be really painful? I feel fine otherwise. It feels irritated but not super painful like everyone describes.

Very possible. if he tests positive, you’ll never know who had it first or who brought it into the relationship.

I’m not sure about being painful, I’ve never had an outbreak, but I am positive for HSV 1 and 2. I’ve heard the 1st outbreak is very painful.

from the second picture you added i think it looks more bacterial.
is it any were else?
i dont think its hsv; but still get it checked :slight_smile:

No, just that one spot. That makes me feel better. It just wouldn’t make sense as he doesnt have it, I have never had an outbreak before and the fact that I feel fine otherwise. Got an appt. tomorrow so hopefully I get good news.

Stranger things have happened, some people are carriers from previous relationships or had it orally years ago and haven’t had a oral cold sore.
But even though the skin is broken and kind of has an appearance of it I don’t think it is! It hasn’t spread around, looks like it’s trying to heal, not much pain just doesn’t sound typical.
Personally my outbreak was brutal I knew there was something not right.

So just got back from the OBGYN. She looked at it and said it wasnt herpes. That is was probably cellulitis from the razor. Then I showed her the pictures and she said those looked like herpes. :frowning: So she swabbed to test for it. She did say the fact it looked so much better than the pic I took yesterday is a good sign but dodnt want to say for sure that I didnt have it. So now I have to wait :frowning:

Got good news today! Negative on herpes and bacterial infection! Everything is all cleared up but so glad I went to the doctors to get it confirmed!
