I had unprotected sex 9 days ago and ive been feeling discomfort and itchiness down there. Can someone tell me what this might be?
Hi Alyssa, there is clearly some irritation but nothing strikes out that may look like herpes. It looks and sounds more like a yeast infection. You can try OTC antifungal treatment and see a doctor for a professional diagnosis.
I took a tablet to help with a yeast infection but it didnt really help. im going to the dr tommorow!
It is symmetrical on both sides of the vagina? is that unusual
Irritation/Dermatitis and fungus have a tendency to be symmetrical, no worries. Your doctor will be able to complete a culture swab and confirm if it’s yeast, BV or something else. I don’t think it’s herpes. Avoid sexual penetration until you are feeling better and get diagnosed just to no aggravate the irritation.
